Project Engineer – Building Construction
🎯 Role Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the independent management and coordination of construction activities for an assigned building or major building area, from structural works through finishing works.
The ideal candidate must have strong site experience, excellent coordination and follow-up skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively between Civil/Structural, Architectural, MEP, QA/QC, Planning, Consultants, and Subcontractors.
✅ Key Responsibilities
Independently manage and coordinate construction activities from structural works through finishing works.
Supervise and coordinate structure, architectural, and finishing activities in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
Track and follow up on Drawing Approvals and Material Approvals, ensuring all required approvals are obtained before commencement of work.
Monitor the availability and approval status of drawings, materials, technical submittals, and method statements.
Conduct and coordinate internal inspections and ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
Monitor construction progress and identify potential delays, constraints, and site issues.
Coordinate with Planning and Construction teams to maintain the approved project schedule.
Closely coordinate Civil/Structural and MEP interfaces, including:
Openings and sleeves
Embedded items
MEP penetrations
Ceiling coordination
Structural/MEP interfaces
Work sequences and access requirements
Identify potential clashes and interface issues in advance and coordinate with relevant departments for timely resolution.
Coordinate closely with Consultants, Subcontractors, MEP Teams, QA/QC, Planning, Engineering, and other project departments.
Follow up on outstanding technical issues, inspections, approvals, and site requirements until closure.
Ensure construction activities are properly documented and executed according to approved procedures.
Provide regular updates on progress, technical issues, approvals, and site constraints to project management.
Take responsibility for independently managing an assigned building or major building area.
📌 Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
Proven experience as a Project Engineer in large-scale building construction projects.
Strong practical experience in both Structural and Finishing Works.
Experience in high-rise building construction is mandatory.
5-Star Hotel / Luxury Hospitality Construction experience is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of building construction methods, sequencing, and site execution.
Proven experience in Drawing Approval and Material Approval follow-up.
Strong knowledge of Civil/Structural and MEP coordination.
Ability to identify and resolve technical and construction interface issues.
Strong experience in internal inspections, progress monitoring, and site coordination.
Excellent documentation, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
Must be capable of independently managing a building or major building area.
