Key Splicer Responsibilities Cable Preparation: Accurately measure and strip outer jackets, armor layers, metallic shields, and semi-conductive insulation screens without scoring the primary insulation. Conductor Connection: Join copper or aluminum conductors using mechanical or compression splice connectors with hydraulic tools. Stress Control & Insulation: Rebuild the insulation layer using heat-shrink, cold-shrink, or taped modular kits to control electrical stress concentrations. Shielding & Grounding: Re-establish continuity of the metallic screen/armor and tie the system into the local ground network. Testing: Perform verification checks including insulation resistance, continuity, and Hi-Pot/VLF testing before re-energizing
