We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist – Construction to manage and coordinate procurement activities for construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, subcontractors, purchasing procedures, and commercial negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from purchase requisitions to purchase orders and delivery.
Source and procure construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and subcontractors.
Request and compare quotations based on price, quality, specifications, and delivery schedules.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
Prepare and issue purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate with project, engineering, quantity surveying, and site teams to understand procurement requirements.
Monitor material deliveries and ensure timely availability of materials at project sites.
Maintain proper procurement records, supplier databases, quotations, purchase orders, and delivery documentation.
Follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding orders, delays, shortages, and quality issues.
Assist in evaluating new suppliers and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure all purchased materials meet project specifications and required quality standards.
Support cost control and maintain accurate procurement reports.
Requirements
Proven experience in procurement/purchasing within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
Good understanding of supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, and price negotiation.
Experience handling purchase orders and procurement documentation.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, site teams, and management.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Locally available in Bahrain is mandatory.
Immediate joiner is highly preferred.
Candidates with previous Bahrain construction/procurement experience will have an advantage.
