To manage and supervise all operations of the wood factory, ensuring efficient production, high quality, cost control, timely delivery, workforce productivity, and achievement of approved monthly production and sales targets. The Factory Manager is responsible for developing manufacturing capabilities, improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Management

* Develop and implement the monthly, weekly, and daily production plan.
* Ensure production targets are achieved according to approved quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules.
* Monitor production lines, machines, manpower, and material availability.
* Optimize production capacity and minimize downtime.
* Ensure proper utilization of wood, MDF, WPC, veneers, paints, hardware, adhesives, and other materials.
* Coordinate production priorities with the Projects, Sales, Technical, Procurement, and Warehouse departments.
* Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

B. Quality Control

* Ensure all manufactured products comply with approved drawings, specifications, samples, and quality standards.
* Coordinate with the QA/QC team to control quality throughout the manufacturing process.
* Reduce defects, rework, material waste, and customer complaints.
* Ensure final products are inspected and approved before dispatch.
* Implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues.

C. Factory Operations

* Manage the daily operation of the factory and ensure uninterrupted workflow.
* Supervise production supervisors, foremen, technicians, operators, and workers.
* Establish clear responsibilities and performance standards for factory personnel.
* Monitor machine utilization and coordinate preventive maintenance.
* Ensure proper housekeeping, storage, material handling, and workplace organization.
* Maintain accurate production records and operational reports.

D. Cost & Productivity Control

* Control production costs and reduce unnecessary consumption and wastage.
* Monitor labor productivity and machine efficiency.
* Establish productivity KPIs for production teams.
* Analyze production costs against approved budgets.
* Recommend improvements in production methods, machinery, materials, and manpower allocation.
* Support management in achieving targeted factory profitability.

E. Planning & Coordination

* Coordinate with the Technical Office regarding approved shop drawings and production details.
* Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
* Coordinate with the Warehouse regarding material issuance and finished-product storage.
* Coordinate with Project Managers and Sales Managers regarding production and delivery requirements.
* Review production schedules and prioritize urgent project requirements.

F. Maintenance & Equipment

* Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained.
* Implement preventive maintenance schedules.
* Report equipment failures and coordinate corrective maintenance.
* Evaluate machinery performance and recommend replacement or upgrading when required.
* Monitor spare-parts requirements and availability.

G. Health, Safety & Environment

* Ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies.
* Maintain safe working conditions throughout the factory.
* Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow approved safety procedures.
* Report and investigate accidents, unsafe conditions, and incidents.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of paints, chemicals, adhesives, and other hazardous materials.

H. Human Resources & Team Development

* Manage factory manpower according to approved staffing requirements.
* Evaluate employee performance and productivity.
* Identify training requirements and recommend appropriate technical training.
* Enforce attendance, discipline, and workplace procedures.
* Develop skilled production teams and succession plans for key positions.

I. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

The Factory Manager shall submit regular reports covering:

* Daily and monthly production quantities and values.
* Production achievement versus target.
* Machine utilization and downtime.
* Material consumption and wastage.
* Labor productivity.
* Quality defects and rework.
* Production costs.
* Maintenance requirements.
* Manpower status.
* Delivery status.
* Corrective and improvement actions.

* Achievement of monthly production target.
* On-time production and delivery percentage.
* Production efficiency and labor productivity.
* Machine utilization rate.
* Material wastage percentage.

4. Authority

The Factory Manager is authorized to:

* Allocate manpower and production resources within approved limits.
* Set daily and weekly production priorities.
* Stop production where serious quality or safety issues exist.
* Request maintenance, materials, manpower, and technical support.
* Recommend recruitment, transfer, training, promotion, or disciplinary action for factory employees.
* Recommend new machinery, production methods, and process improvements.
* Escalate major operational, financial, quality, or delivery risks to senior management.

5. Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Wood Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
* Minimum **8–10 years of relevant experience**, preferably with **3–5 years in a managerial position**.
* Strong experience in wood manufacturing, furniture, doors, joinery, WPC, MDF, or related production operations.
* Good knowledge of production planning, factory management, quality control, maintenance, and cost management.
* Experience in managing production teams and industrial manpower.
* Strong knowledge of workplace safety requirements.
* Good computer skills and ability to prepare production and KPI reports.
