To perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Passenger Operating System (POS) and Platform Screen Door (PSD) systems for railway/metro operations, ensuring reliable, safe, and continuous operation of station equipment in accordance with maintenance procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of POS/PSD systems and related station equipment.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair Platform Screen Doors (PSD) and associated mechanical and electrical components.
Carry out routine inspections of door mechanisms, motors, sensors, locks, rollers, belts, actuators, controllers, and safety devices.
Diagnose faults using electrical/electronic testing equipment and system diagnostic tools.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control system faults affecting POS/PSD equipment.
Perform functional tests after maintenance or repair to ensure equipment is operating correctly and safely.
Check door alignment, opening/closing operation, interlocking, emergency release mechanisms, and safety functions.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and restore systems to normal operation within the required response time.
Replace defective components, wiring, sensors, switches, motors, control modules, and other spare parts as required.
Support testing and commissioning activities for PSD/POS equipment after installation, modification, or major maintenance.
Record maintenance activities, equipment faults, replaced parts, test results, and corrective actions in maintenance systems/logbooks.
Follow preventive maintenance schedules and ensure all assigned maintenance tasks are completed within the required timeframe.
Coordinate with control room operators, station staff, engineers, and other maintenance teams during fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with railway safety procedures, Alstom standards, site regulations, and applicable quality requirements.
Maintain tools, test equipment, spare parts, and personal protective equipment in proper condition.
Identify recurring faults and report them to supervisors/engineers for further investigation and permanent corrective action.
Participate in emergency response, night-shift, weekend, and planned maintenance activities when required.
Technical Requirements
Good knowledge of Platform Screen Door (PSD) systems and railway/metro station equipment.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, sensors, switches, relays, motors, actuators, and control systems.
Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams, control schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and other relevant test tools.
Basic understanding of PLC/control systems, communication interfaces, and interlocking systems is preferred.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Knowledge of railway/metro maintenance procedures and safety practices is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical Diploma / Vocational Qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical field.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in maintenance of railway, metro, Platform Screen Doors, automatic doors, industrial automation, or similar electrical/mechanical systems.
Experience with PSD, automatic doors, railway signaling/interface systems, or station equipment is highly preferred.
Candidates with strong experience in industrial automation, automatic door systems, elevators/escalators, or electromechanical equipment may also be considered.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
Willingness to work shifts, nights, weekends, and during planned maintenance windows.
Good communication and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Technician with experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems. Direct PSD/railway experience is preferred, but candidates from automatic doors, elevators, industrial automation, or similar equipment maintenance backgrounds may also be suitable if they have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
