As a Network Engineer I'm responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting an organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable, secure, and efficient connectivity across LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, cloud, and data-center environments.

Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, install, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network equipment.
Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security.
Troubleshoot network connectivity, latency, packet loss, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and related issues.
Configure and support routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, and HSRP/VRRP.
Manage firewalls, VPNs, access control lists (ACLs), and network security policies.
Support LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking environments.
Perform network upgrades, firmware updates, configuration changes, and equipment replacements.
Maintain network diagrams, IP address documentation, configurations, and technical procedures.
Implement network monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster-recovery processes.
Work with systems, cloud, security, application, and service-provider teams to resolve technical issues.
Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and change-management activities.
Automate repetitive networking tasks where appropriate using tools such as Python, Ansible, or APIs.
Provide technical support and participate in an on-call rotation when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience administering enterprise network infrastructure.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and VPNs.
Knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including BGP and OSPF.
Experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, or Palo Alto Networks.
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar platforms.
Understanding of network security principles, firewalls, segmentation, and access controls.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Network+, or equivalent.
Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud networking.
Knowledge of SD-WAN, SDN, network automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
Experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, or REST APIs.
Familiarity with high-availability and disaster-recovery network architectures.
