Job purpose:
The Geologist - Processing is responsible for providing geological support and expertise to processing operations in mining and mineral processing facilities. This role involves analyzing geological data, interpreting ore characteristics.
Job Description:
Conduct geological investigations and sampling programs to characterize ore deposits, including lithological, mineralogical, and geochemical analysis, to assess ore quality and variability.Interpret geological data, including drill core logs, assay results, and geological maps, to identify mineralization trends, geological controls, and ore characteristics relevant to processing.Collaborate with mining engineers, metallurgists, and processing plant personnel to develop processing strategies and optimize plant performance based on geological information.Monitor ore feed quality and processing parameters, such as grade, size distribution, and mineralogy, and provide recommendations for process adjustments to maximize recovery and minimize losses.Conduct reconciliation studies to compare planned versus actual production and identify opportunities for improvement in ore blending, processing efficiency, and recovery rates.Assist in the design and implementation of ore blending strategies, including grade control drilling programs and stockpile management, to ensure consistent feed quality to processing plants.Provide geological support for metallurgical testing and process optimization studies, including sample selection, testwork planning, and interpretation of test results.Assist in the development of geological models and resource estimates for mine planning and ore reserve estimation, incorporating geological data into mine plans and production schedules.Monitor environmental impacts of processing activities and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits related to water usage, tailings disposal, and reclamation.Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and emerging trends in mineral processing and geological modeling, and apply new knowledge to improve processing performance.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field; master's degree or specialization in Economic Geology or Mineral Processing is advantageous.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in geology, mineral processing, or related roles, with specific experience in processing plant operations and optimization.Experience with laboratory testing techniques and equipment used in mineral processing, including flotation, gravity separation, & testing.

Job Purpose
Plans, administers and reviews the production activities/development of the underground mining operation to optimize resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards for Ma’aden Gold. Reviews data such as maps and survey reports. This position is responsible for implementing operational excellence activities within the job holder’s span of control
Job responsibilities During development phase, ensures that appropriate infrastructure for underground has been established such as power distribution, ventilation system, water & air distribution and pumping by closely liaising with Mine Planning, Geology, and Maintenance.Plans production schedules and labor and material input requirements to meet output quantity, quality and timing specifications. Includes liaising with Geology, Engineering and Mine Captain to ensure all relevant personnel are aware and understand productivity requirements. Directs the formulation of mining production strategies, policies and plans.Ensures conduct of plant maintenance programs and availability of parts and tooling to meet production deadlines.Performs other similar or related duties such as researching new and improved methods and products for mine production, and overseeing the acquisition and installation of new machinery.Supervises the activities of assigned personnel at the Bulghah Mine. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the department head level as established by Management.Supervises the department’s implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs. Attends and provides input to strategy and policy development and review meetings; ensures that the promotion of the company’s policies and procedures in the underground mine is effective and monitors activities to ensure compliance. Participates in Incident Response and Command activities, reviews and comments on incident reports and carries out independent investigations of all accidents and near misses involving own staff or facilities. Ensures that all contractors/consultants are fully briefed on the Company’s HSE regulations and signs accordingly during contract signing. Provides independent advice and comments on HSE issues to improve company programs.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining, Geology, or Survey Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: 8 years of technical experience in mining operations.
