Job Description
A pipefitter fabricates, installs, and maintains piping systems. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, cutting and bending pipes, welding and joining sections, and testing for leaks. This job requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work in diverse settings, often involving high-pressure and complex systems.
Key responsibilities
Installation: Lay out, assemble, and install piping systems based on blueprints and specifications. This includes selecting the correct type and size of pipe and cutting openings in walls, floors, and ceilings.
Fabrication: Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes using hand and power tools.
Assembly and joining: Weld, braze, solder, and cement joints to create complete piping systems.
Maintenance and repair: Maintain existing pipe units, replace worn components, and troubleshoot problems.
Testing: Test systems for leaks and ensure they meet safety codes and standards.
System support: Install hangers, supports, valves, and other control system
