MEP Estimation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
• Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to understand the complete MEP scope.
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other MEP systems.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and commercial proposals for tender and variation works.
• Collect and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Prepare RFQs and coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors for material and installation costs.
• Analyze project requirements, specifications, and scope exclusions to identify gaps, risks, and cost impacts.
• Develop detailed material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns.
• Coordinate with the Design, Procurement, Construction, and Commercial teams to ensure accurate estimation.
• Review and compare supplier quotations, technical compliance, and commercial terms.
• Prepare rate analysis and cost comparisons for major MEP systems and materials.
• Assist in preparing tender clarifications, technical queries, and commercial qualifications.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project cost without compromising quality or specifications.
• Maintain and update cost databases, supplier rates, and estimation templates.
• Support management in preparing tender strategy, budget estimates, and final bid submissions.
• Participate in tender meetings, site visits, and discussions with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure estimates are prepared accurately and submitted within the required tender deadlines.
• Assist during project execution with variation pricing, cost control, and budget monitoring.
Requirements
• 7–10 years of MEP/construction experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical)
• Strong leadership & communication skills
• Arabic nationals preferred
