We are looking for a skilled and experienced Wood Polisher to polish, restore, and finish wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, and other wood surfaces. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of wood-finishing techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to produce a smooth, high-quality finish.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare wooden surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and removing old finishes.
2. Apply polish, stain, varnish, lacquer, paint, or other wood-finishing materials.
3. Match colors and finishes according to customer or project requirements.
4. Repair minor scratches, dents, cracks, and surface imperfections.
5. Operate and maintain polishing and sanding tools safely.
6. Ensure finished surfaces are smooth, even, clean, and free from defects.
7. Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals, solvents, and finishing materials.
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
9. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required quality standards.
10. Follow instructions from supervisors and coordinate with carpenters and other workshop staff.
Requirements
1. Previous experience as a wood polisher, furniture polisher, or similar role.
2. Knowledge of different wood types, stains, polishes, varnishes, and finishing techniques.
3. Good hand skills and strong attention to detail.
4. Ability to use sanding machines, spray equipment, and hand tools.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Physically fit and able to work for extended periods standing.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
