Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications to plan layout and installation of wiring, panels, motors, switchgear, transformers, PLC and control systems.
• Install, connect, and commission low-voltage and associated electrical equipment: distribution boards, circuit breakers, relays, instruments, sensors, motor control centres, and automation components.
• Mount control panels, assemble wiring, terminate cables, and perform pre-energisation checks before testing and handover.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and routine inspections of electrical systems to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, and other instruments; repair or replace defective components and restore service.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies; resolve faults with minimal operational disruption.
Testing, Compliance & Documentation
• Test circuits, installations, and equipment for continuity, insulation integrity, voltage, and earth bonding; produce test certificates and compliance reports.
• Maintain accurate records: maintenance logs, test results, job reports, parts usage, and equipment history.
Technical Support & Engineering Assistance
• Assist electrical engineers with site surveys, feasibility checks, and site supervision during projects and upgrades.
• Calibrate instruments, configure control parameters, and assist with PLC/HMI commissioning and automation systems integration.
• Recommend improvements for energy efficiency, safety, and system performance; suggest component upgrades or replacements.
