Role Summary
Lead mechanical maintenance, overhauls, and inspections on heavy-duty steam turbines
and critical valves, ensuring strict adherence to OEM specifications, QAFCO safety protocols,
and tight turnaround schedules.
Core Responsibilities
• Overhaul Execution: Direct disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of turbine
components (rotors, casings, bearings) and overhaul critical steam valves.
• Precision & Quality: Manage critical clearances, hydraulic torquing, laser alignment,
and validate QA/QC documentation (ITPs/NCRs) against OEM tolerances.
• Lifting & Commissioning: Oversee complex heavy lifts and support hydro/pneumatic
leak tests, turbine warm-up, and overspeed trip tests.
• Site Leadership: Allocate resources, coordinate with I&C/Electrical teams, and deliver
daily progress reports to site management.
Key Qualifications
• Experience & Education: 15+ years in mechanical maintenance (8+ years supervising
steam turbine overhauls). Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (OEM
certification preferred).
• Technical Expertise: Mastery of OEM inspection tolerances, bearing scraping, thermal
growth analysis, and interpreting P&IDs/GA drawings.
• Tool Proficiency: Expert use of micrometers, bridge gauges, laser alignment tools, and
hydraulic tensioners.
HSE & Certifications
• Safety Leadership: Strict enforcement of QAFCO PTW/LOTO procedures and daily
toolbox talks to drive a zero-incident culture.
• Mandatory Certifications: H₂S Awareness, Confined Space, Working at Height, Flange
Management/Bolting Integrity, Rigging & Lifting Plans, and OEM Steam Turbine
Maintenance.
