State electricity tariffs stakeholders can assess Jharkhand’s revised Rs 1,518.81 crore aggregate revenue requirement for Tata Steel in FY2024-25. The regulator increased the approved amount by Rs 92.40 crore after correcting duplicated treatment of surplus-power revenue. EnergylineIndia.com notes that the Rs 93.15 crore item had been subtracted from both revenue and power-purchase expenditure. Approved power-purchase cost consequently increased from approximately Rs 1,302.37 crore to Rs 1,395 crore. The Commission also accepted 3.01% actual distribution loss, restoring 3.16 MU to the energy balance, and raised consumer-security-deposit interest to Rs 5.18 crore. This State electricity tariffs classified summary presents a regulatory-accounting change rather than a new infrastructure opportunity. The revised ARR does not automatically equal present consumer recovery; billing, approved revenue and future true-up adjustments must be tracked separately in the next tariff cycle.
