Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer with 5–10+ years of relevant mining experience to support mine planning, production strategy, resource/reserve reporting, and feasibility studies. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in mine planning software, reserve reporting standards, budgeting, and production planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain long-term mining plans, production schedules, and associated budgets.
• Prepare and support annual mine plans, production forecasts, depletion reports, and reserve statements.
• Act as, or work toward becoming, a Competent Person (CP) capable of signing off mineral reserves and annual depletion reports in accordance with recognized reporting standards such as JORC and NI 43-101.
• Contribute to the mining sections of PFS, FS, BFS, and other technical/economic studies.
• Develop mining schedules, production strategies, equipment requirements, and resource allocation plans.
• Analyze mine production data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and resource utilization.
• Work closely with geology, metallurgy, processing, and operations teams to ensure alignment between mine plans and overall production objectives.
• Maintain and analyze mining databases and prepare detailed reports using advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 5–10+ years of relevant mining engineering experience, preferably in operating mines and/or mine planning.
• Strong knowledge of mineral resource and reserve reporting standards, including JORC and NI 43-101.
• Proven experience in long-term mine planning, production scheduling, and budget development.
• Practical experience contributing to PFS, FS, and BFS studies.
• Strong proficiency in Surpac and Whittle is essential; experience with Datamine and NPV/economic evaluation software is an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and database management skills.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with AI-based tools and applications for engineering, data analysis, and productivity is an advantage.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
