We are seeking a skilled and certified Rigger to safely handle lifting and rigging operations for marine and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with rigging gear, load handling, and working alongside crane operators to ensure safe and efficient lifting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect rigging equipment including slings, shackles, hooks, chains, and wire ropes before use
Select appropriate rigging gear based on load weight, shape, and lift plan requirements
Attach and secure loads to lifting equipment using proper rigging techniques
Communicate with crane operators using hand signals or radio for precise load positioning
Ensure loads are balanced and secured to prevent shifting during lifting and movement
Assist in lifting, moving, and positioning heavy materials, equipment, and structures
Perform routine maintenance and inspection of rigging gear; report damaged or worn equipment
Follow all safety procedures including lift plans, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems
Participate in toolbox talks and pre-lift safety briefings
Maintain work area cleanliness and organize rigging equipment after use
Assist with crane assembly and dismantling when required
Monitor lifting operations to ensure safety and compliance with approved procedures
Report any incidents, near-misses, or equipment damage immediately
