MEP Draughtsman — Job Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (HVAC ductwork, piping, fire fighting, drainage, water supply, power, and lighting) using AutoCAD/Revit MEP.
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP consultant drawings (IFC/tender drawings) to develop detailed installation and fabrication drawings in line with project specifications and local authority standards Aramco standards .
• Carry out 3D coordination and clash detection between MEP disciplines and with architectural/structural elements, using BIM tools (Revit/Navisworks) to resolve conflicts before construction.
• Develop equipment layout drawings, riser diagrams, single line diagrams, schematic drawings, and detailed sections for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Prepare builder's work drawings, sleeve and opening drawings for coordination with civil/structural teams.
• Convert design-stage drawings into construction-ready shop drawings incorporating site conditions, RFIs, and approved material submittals.
• Update drawings based on site instructions, variation orders, and consultant comments, maintaining accurate drawing revision control and transmittal logs.
• Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and quantity schedules from drawings to support procurement and BOQ verification.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project engineers, and MEP subcontractors to ensure drawings reflect actual site conditions and constructability.
• Prepare as-built drawings at project completion, incorporating all approved site changes, for handover and O&M documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant international codes and Aramco standard
• In corporate the review comments from pmc / owner for the shop drawing review comments ,
• Maintain drawing registers, track submittal/approval status, and ensure timely issuance of drawings to meet project schedules.
• Mentor and check the work of junior draughtsmen/CAD technicians, ensuring quality and consistency of drawing output.
• Support tendering and estimation teams by providing preliminary layouts and take-offs during the bidding stage, where required.
Qualification :Diploma/Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent draughting qualification), minimum 5 years' experience as an MEP Draughtsman on construction projects within the GCC, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks, familiarity with GCC authority approval processes, and strong understanding of MEP coordination on residential and industrial projects ‘
