We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor – Construction to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, cost control, valuations, variations, and commercial documentation for construction projects. These are common requirements in current Bahrain QS positions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and cost plans.
Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Conduct site measurements and verify completed quantities.
Prepare and evaluate interim payment applications and progress valuations.
Monitor project costs, budgets, material quantities, and expenditures.
Review and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Evaluate and price variations, change orders, additional works, and site instructions.
Assist with tender preparation, procurement, and contract administration.
Prepare monthly cost reports, commercial reports, and cost reconciliation.
Assist with final accounts, claims, and commercial documentation.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Maintain accurate records of measurements, contracts, variations, payments, and project costs.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Good knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying/estimation software.
Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Bahrain/GCC construction experience is preferred.
Must be currently available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiner is strongly preferred.
Candidates with transferable/cancelled visa or valid local status are preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience in villa projects, residential buildings, commercial projects, high-rise buildings, fit-out, or general construction will be highly considered.
