Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Center Operations (Except For Lebanese)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of Tier III data center facilities. The ideal candidate will oversee, manage, and troubleshoot all electromechanical and critical support systems to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and safety of the facility, while supporting capacity planning and power load calculations for IT expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical and mechanical (electromechanical) systems across the Tier III data center.
• Manage critical power systems, including UPS, generators, ATS, Synchronization, LV/MV switchgear, PDUs, transformers, and battery banks.
• Operate and maintain Ring Main Units (RMU) and associated medium- and low-voltage distribution equipment.
• Oversee mechanical and cooling systems, including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and related controls.
• Manage the fuel system, including bulk storage, transfer, day tanks, and generator supply, and coordinate refueling and monitoring.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the Building Management System (BMS) and Central Control & Monitoring System (CCMS).
• Manage the leak detection system across critical areas, responding promptly to alerts and mitigating risk.
• Maintain the load blocker and gate barrier systems governing facility and vehicle access control.
• Oversee the Public Address (PA) system for facility-wide communication and emergency announcements.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor all fire detection and suppression systems, including the Gent fire alarm (Winmag workstation), VESDA aspirating smoke detection (VESDA workstation), and NOVEC clean-agent suppression (Rescue workstation), ensuring testing, inspection, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform power load calculations for new IT load expansion within existing racks.
• Assess available capacity at rack, PDU, UPS, and feeder levels to safely accommodate additional IT load.
• Evaluate rack power density, phase balancing, and redundancy (N+1, 2N) impact before deploying new equipment.
• Calculate incremental electrical and cooling demand associated with expanded IT load and validate available headroom.
• Produce load studies, update single-line diagrams, and prepare documentation to support expansion approvals.
• Manage overall capacity planning and power distribution to support current and future demand.
• Ensure continuous 24/7 availability in line with Tier III concurrent maintainability requirements.
• Develop, review, and implement Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
• Perform root-cause analysis on faults and failures and lead corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Plan and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and OEMs for maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and applicable codes (NFPA 70E, NEC, IEC).
• Monitor and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions via BMS and CCMS platforms.
• Support incident management, participate in on-call rotation, and lead restoration during critical events.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians and contribute to training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
