We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our construction team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, estimation, cost control, valuations, variations, and commercial documentation. These are common responsibilities in current Bahrain QS roles.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and project budgets.
Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
Conduct site measurements and verify completed quantities.
Monitor project costs, budgets, materials, and wastage.
Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and progress claims.
Evaluate variations, change orders, additional works, and site instructions.
Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and prepare comparison statements.
Assist with tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
Monitor project expenditures and identify potential cost overruns.
Prepare cost reports, reconciliations, and commercial documentation.
Assist with final accounts and construction claims.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, valuations, and variations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Good knowledge of construction materials, labour costs, and subcontractor pricing.
Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD; QS/estimation software is an advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Bahrain construction experience is preferred/required according to project needs.
Must be currently available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiner is highly preferred.
Candidates with transferable/cancelled visa or valid local status are preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience in villa projects, residential/commercial buildings, high-rise projects, fit-out, civil works, or general contracting will be an advantage.
