Perform testing and commissioning activities for HV/MV electrical substations.
Conduct testing of power transformers, including insulation resistance, winding resistance, turns ratio, and other required electrical tests.
Perform testing and commissioning of GIS and AIS switchgear.
Conduct CT/VT testing, including ratio, polarity, insulation resistance, and secondary injection tests.
Perform testing and commissioning of protection and control systems.
Configure, test, and troubleshoot protection relays, including overcurrent, earth fault, differential, distance, and other protection functions.
Carry out primary and secondary injection testing and verify protection schemes.
Perform functional checks, interlocking tests, trip circuit checks, and control circuit verification.
Review and verify SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, protection drawings, and testing procedures.
Identify and troubleshoot electrical and protection system faults during commissioning.
Prepare and review testing & commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, and commissioning documentation.
Coordinate with SEC, consultants, clients, and project teams during inspection, testing, energization, and handover activities.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with SEC requirements, approved procedures, project specifications, and applicable international standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in testing and commissioning of electrical substations.
Strong hands-on experience with HV/MV substations, GIS/AIS, transformers, CT/VT, protection relays, and control systems.
Previous experience with SEC projects and SEC standards/procedures is highly preferred.
Experience with protection relay testing equipment such as Omicron or equivalent is preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical protection, control, testing, and commissioning procedures.
Valid & transferable Iqama.
