Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician with hands-on experience in concrete and construction material testing. The candidate should have good knowledge of ACI standards and testing procedures and experience working in construction laboratories or major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct testing of concrete, aggregates, cement, and other construction materials.
Perform concrete tests including slump, temperature, air content, unit weight, and compressive strength.
Prepare concrete test specimens/cylinders and ensure proper identification, curing, and storage.
Carry out aggregate testing such as gradation, moisture content, specific gravity, absorption, and sieve analysis.
Ensure all laboratory tests are conducted according to approved ACI, ASTM, and project specifications.
Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and inspection reports.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and report any equipment issues.
Assist in concrete mix design and trial mixes when required.
Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, site teams, consultants, and third-party laboratories.
Ensure proper sampling and testing procedures are followed at site and laboratory.
Report any non-conforming test results to the QA/QC Engineer/Manager.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
Support QA/QC teams during inspections, audits, and material approvals.
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
Relevant experience in construction/material testing laboratories.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification or relevant ACI certification preferred/required.
Good knowledge of ACI and ASTM testing standards.
Hands-on experience with concrete and aggregate testing.
Ability to prepare accurate test reports and maintain laboratory documentation.
Experience in bridge, precast, infrastructure, or major construction projects is preferred.
Saudi/GCC experience is an advantage.
