We are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, quantities, contracts, variations, payments, and commercial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimates, and cost plans for construction projects.
Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to determine project quantities and requirements.
Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and pricing based on drawings, specifications, and market rates.
Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances.
Prepare and evaluate variation orders, additional works, and claims.
Review subcontractor quotations, invoices, payment applications, and supporting documents.
Prepare interim payment applications, valuations, and payment certificates.
Assist with procurement by obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Maintain accurate records of project costs, quantities, contracts, variations, and payments.
Assist with subcontractor and supplier negotiations and commercial evaluations.
Prepare regular cost reports and commercial reports for management.
Support contract administration, final accounts, and project close-out.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ensure commercial activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction quantities, BOQ preparation, costing, valuations, and variations.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Good knowledge of construction materials, methods, and subcontracting processes.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying/cost control software.
Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial documentation.
Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
Experience in Bahrain/GCC construction projects is preferred.
Must be locally available in Bahrain.
