Planning Engineer – MEP & Civil

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer – MEP & Civil with a minimum of 15 years of Gulf experience in planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling large-scale construction projects involving MEP and Civil works.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, identifying delays and risks, and ensuring projects are delivered according to approved schedules.

Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed baseline schedules for Civil, MEP, and multidisciplinary construction projects.

Prepare project planning and scheduling using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.

Monitor actual progress against approved baseline schedules and identify variances.

Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management reports.

Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, MEP/Civil teams, subcontractors, and consultants.

Review contractor and subcontractor programs and assess their progress.

Prepare 2-week, 3-week, and look-ahead schedules.

Identify critical path activities, delays, risks, and potential schedule impacts.

Assist in preparation of recovery and mitigation programs for delayed works.

Analyze project delays and support preparation of EOT (Extension of Time) claims and associated schedules.

Track manpower, materials, equipment, procurement, and construction activities against project requirements.

Coordinate MEP and Civil interfaces to ensure smooth execution and timely completion.

Participate in progress meetings and provide planning-related inputs.

Ensure project schedules are updated accurately and maintained in accordance with company procedures.

Support project management in achieving contractual milestones and completion targets.



Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including substantial Gulf/GCC experience.

Experience in defence, military, security, or other high-security projects is highly preferred.

Experience planning and coordinating MEP and Civil works for defence projects, military facilities, secure compounds, bases, or restricted-access facilities is an advantage.

Ability to work in projects requiring strict confidentiality, security procedures, access controls, and compliance with project-specific standards and regulations.
