Looking For An Audit Associate

The Role
As an Audit Associate, you'll join an engagement team working directly with clients to plan and carry out external audits of financial statements and other assurance engagements. You'll build strong technical skills, gain exposure to a range of sectors, including entities regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), and work closely with experienced seniors, managers, and partners who are invested in your development.

What You'll Do

• Take part in all phases of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and completion, under the guidance of senior team members.
• Perform substantive testing and tests of internal controls across areas such as cash, revenue, receivables, inventory, payables, and fixed assets.
• Prepare clear, well-organized working papers in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and firm methodology.
• Review financial statements for compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and, where applicable, AAOIFI standards for Islamic financial institutions.
• Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance reviews under the CBB Rulebook and the Bahrain Commercial Companies Law.
• Support engagements involving VAT compliance and other matters related to the National Bureau for Revenue (NBR).
• Communicate with client personnel to request documentation, clarify transactions, and build productive working relationships.
• Help draft audit reports, management letters, and recommendations for improving internal controls.




What We're Looking For
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Pursuing or holding a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CMA.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and fundamental auditing principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort learning audit software.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and visit client sites across Bahrain.

Preferred

• 0–2 years of experience in external audit, ideally with an auditing firm in the GCC.
• Knowledge of AAOIFI standards or experience auditing Islamic banks or takaful companies.
• Familiarity with CBB regulations and Bahraini VAT.
• Experience with audit tools such as CaseWare or 1Audit.
