Torch On Waterproofing Membrane And Torched On Membrane | Remseal

Is a flat roof, balcony or basement leaking again after a patch-up? Repeat leaks usually mean nobody found the cause. Remseal has installed a torch on waterproofing across Sydney for around 35 years, backed by 43 years of waterproofing and remediation experience. Our team investigates why water is getting in before recommending a fix.
A torch on waterproofing membrane is a modified bitumen sheet, heat-fused to a sound, primed and completely clean surface with a controlled torch. The result is a continuous watertight barrier that flexes with structural movement. The membrane is reinforced with polyester or fibreglass, comes in several thicknesses, and resists UV exposure and harsh weather. When it is properly installed and maintained, it can last up to 20-25 years.
You can choose between SBS (rubber-modified) and APP (plastic-modified) options. SBS offers superior flexibility and crack-bridging where movement or temperature swings are expected. APP handles UV, heat and ageing on exposed roofs and commercial jobs. We apply torch on waterproofing to flat roofs, balconies, basements, retaining walls, podium decks and planter boxes. Depending on what our investigation finds, we may recommend localised repairs, a torched on membrane overlay or full membrane replacement.
Before we pick up a torch, we run leak detection, moisture assessments, drainage analysis and structural assessments, so we fix the source of the leak and not just the symptom. We install to Australian Standards and industry best practice, and we back our work with a leak warranty and guarantee. Torch on suits flat and low-slope roofs but not steep-sloped ones, so we assess every project individually.
