We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Purchaser to join our team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing construction materials, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely procurement to support ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, tools, and related supplies.
Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and delivery schedules.
Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation.
Coordinate with project, engineering, warehouse, and accounts teams regarding procurement requirements.
Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
Maintain good working relationships with local and international suppliers.
Track material prices and market availability to support cost-effective purchasing.
Verify materials and quantities against purchase requirements and project specifications.
Maintain proper records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier information.
Resolve issues related to delays, shortages, damaged materials, or incorrect deliveries.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and project requirements.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Purchaser / Procurement Officer / Buyer within the construction industry.
Experience purchasing construction materials, MEP materials, tools, equipment, or building materials.
Good knowledge of the Bahrain supplier and construction market.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to compare quotations and identify cost-effective options.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
Must be currently residing in Bahrain.
