A Lifting Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all lifting operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all lifting activities at the worksite.
Ensure the approved lifting plan is followed.
Conduct toolbox talks before lifting operations.
Inspect cranes, lifting accessories, and rigging equipment before use.
Verify that cranes and lifting gear have valid inspection certificates.
Ensure all riggers and crane operators are competent and authorized.
Establish and maintain the exclusion zone around the lifting area.
Check ground conditions, crane setup, and outrigger placement.
Monitor weather conditions, especially wind speed.
Maintain clear communication with the crane operator, riggers, and signalman.
Stop the lifting operation immediately if any unsafe condition is identified.
Ensure all personnel wear the required PPE and follow safety procedures.
Report hazards, incidents, and equipment defects to management.
