“I check the approved material, shop drawings, partition thickness and layout, stud spacing, fixing of tracks and studs, openings, insulation, MEP coordination, board installation, joint treatment, and surface level/plumbness. Before closing the partition, I make sure all concealed MEP and insulation works are inspected and approved.”
2. Glass Partitions
Question: What are your QC checks for glass partitions?
Answer:
“I check the approved glass type and thickness, dimensions, frame or channel alignment, fixing and sealant, glass edge condition, verticality and level. I also verify safety requirements such as tempered or laminated glass where specified, and ensure there are no cracks, chips or visible defects.”
3. Tiling
Question: What do you check before and during tile installation?
Answer:
“First, I check the approved tile, adhesive, grout, substrate condition and shop drawings. During installation, I check line and level, tile alignment, joint width, pattern, coverage of adhesive, slopes in wet areas, and proper grouting. After completion, I check for hollow tiles, cracks, lippage, stains and damaged tiles.”
4. Ceilings
Question: What are your QC checks for false ceiling?
Answer:
“I check the approved ceiling material and shop drawings, ceiling level, suspension system, hanger spacing and fixing, main and secondary channels, MEP coordination and access panels. After installation, I check alignment, level, joints, finishing and the overall appearance.”
5. Joinery Works
Question: What do you check for joinery works?
Answer:
“I check approved materials, shop drawings, dimensions, fabrication quality, alignment, fixing, joints, edge finishing and surface condition. I also verify that the joinery is properly coordinated with walls, doors, electrical points and other finishes.”
6. Doors, Frames & Hardware
Question: What are your QC checks for doors and frames?
Answer:
“I check the approved door and frame type, dimensions, material, opening size, frame alignment, plumb and level, fixing and anchoring. For hardware, I check hinges, locks, handles, door closers, panic devices and other specified accessories. Finally, I check smooth operation, clearances and the finished appearance.”
7. Wall Finishing / Paneling / Wallpaper / Themes
Question: What do you check for wall finishes?
Answer:
“I check the approved material, color, pattern and mock-up before installation. I make sure the substrate is clean, dry, smooth and properly prepared. During installation, I check alignment, joints, corners, levels and workmanship. For wallpaper and decorative panels, I check for bubbles, wrinkles, open joints, color variation and surface damage.”
