Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and hands-on Mechanical / Quality Control Engineer to oversee the procurement, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and delivery of manifolded gas cylinder racks and related industrial gas equipment.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication, piping systems, pressure testing, material traceability, quality assurance, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Drawing and Technical Review

Review and interpret General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), P&IDs, fabrication drawings, piping layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs).

Verify equipment dimensions, cylinder arrangements, piping configurations, valve locations, connections, supports, and terminal points.

Identify discrepancies between approved drawings, technical specifications, BOMs, and manufactured equipment.

Review manufacturer drawings, datasheets, material specifications, and technical submittals.

Manufacturer Coordination and Production Monitoring

Coordinate with overseas manufacturers and suppliers throughout the manufacturing process.

Monitor fabrication progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Review material procurement records, manufacturing procedures, and inspection schedules.

Follow up on technical queries, deviations, non-conformities, and corrective actions.

Ensure that unauthorized material substitutions or design changes are not accepted without the required technical approval.

Factory Inspection and Quality Control

Perform or coordinate pre-inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection at the manufacturer's facility.

Inspect structural frames, cylinder racks, piping, tubing, manifolds, fittings, valves, supports, lifting arrangements, and terminal connections.

Witness or coordinate pressure tests, leak tests, functional checks, and other required factory acceptance tests (FATs).

Verify test equipment calibration, test records, acceptance criteria, and test certificates.

Inspect pressure regulators, isolation valves, check valves, safety relief devices, gauges, and other pressure-related components, where applicable.

Ensure that testing is conducted safely and that test pressures and acceptance criteria are based on approved engineering requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical fabrication, quality control, pressure systems, gas manifolds, cylinder racks, or industrial gas equipment.

Practical experience in factory inspection, manufacturing quality control, and pre-shipment inspection.

Ability to read and interpret GADs, P&IDs, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and technical datasheets.

Good understanding of piping components, valves, fittings, pressure ratings, material certificates, welding inspection, and pressure/leak testing.

Experience coordinating with overseas manufacturers, preferably in China, is highly desirable.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems, inspection procedures, and relevant industry codes and standards.

Knowledge of applicable pressure equipment and industrial gas safety requirements.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and technical documentation tools is an advantage.

Willingness to travel internationally for factory inspections, if required.

Application Requirements

Interested candidates should submit their CV, highlighting relevant experience in mechanical inspection, pressure systems, industrial gas equipment, manufacturing quality control, and overseas factory inspections.
