Job Description
Zahra Arabian Thuimer General Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Tank Engineer for a project involving storage tank fabrication, erection, inspection, and related mechanical works.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of storage tank construction, engineering drawings, fabrication and erection procedures, and applicable industry standards, particularly API 650.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate storage tank fabrication and erection activities in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.
Ensure compliance with API 650 requirements and other applicable engineering codes.
Review engineering drawings, tank layouts, fabrication drawings, and material specifications.
Monitor tank bottom, shell plate, roof, nozzle, and structural component installation.
Coordinate welding activities with Welding QC Inspectors and ensure compliance with approved WPS and project requirements.
Monitor tank alignment, roundness, plumbness, dimensional tolerances, and fit-up activities.
Coordinate with QC, NDT, civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Review and follow up on inspection requests, ITPs, method statements, and quality documentation.
Coordinate NDT activities, hydrotesting, and other required inspections in accordance with approved procedures.
Identify technical issues, resolve site-related engineering problems, and implement corrective actions.
Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and daily progress against the project schedule.
Prepare daily progress reports, technical reports, and work completion documentation.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and applicable client standards.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical tank engineering, storage tank fabrication, and erection.
Strong knowledge of API 650 storage tank construction requirements.
Experience in tank bottom, shell, roof, nozzle, and structural installation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
Good understanding of welding procedures, NDT requirements, inspection procedures, and hydrotesting.
Familiarity with material traceability, dimensional inspection, and quality documentation.
Experience working on industrial projects in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
Saudi Aramco project experience or approval will be an advantage.
Strong technical, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Relevant engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
