Role Purpose
Make sure every bottle leaving the plant is safe and meets the specification. Run the food safety system, line quality checks and the laboratory (chemical, physical and microbiological), including analysis of the production water.
Roles, Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Quality & food safety system
• Implement and maintain HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 and SFDA requirements.
• Keep specifications, procedures and records controlled; prepare the plant for internal and external audits.
• Manage non-conformities, complaints, root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Run hold/release, recall and traceability checks.
Line and process quality
• Carry out in-process checks on all lines: preforms and blown bottles (weight, dimensions, wall thickness, stress), fill level, cap torque, labels, date coding, pack and pallet checks.
• Verify CIP, sanitation and line cleaning and approve line start-up after cleaning or change-over.
• Monitor critical control points and calibrate quality instruments.
• Review incoming materials (preforms, caps, labels, film, cartons) against specification.
Laboratory analysis
• Perform and record chemical analysis (pH, conductivity, TDS, hardness, chlorine/ozone, alkalinity, minerals) and physical analysis (turbidity, colour, taste and odour).
• Perform microbiological testing (total plate count, coliforms, E. coli, Pseudomonas and other required organisms) and keep the lab accredited and audit-ready.
• Maintain lab equipment, reagents, media and calibration records; follow lab safety rules.
Production water analysis
• Sample and test raw, treated and filling-line water on the approved frequency, and trend the results.
• Work with the water treatment technician on treatment recipes, disinfection and filter/membrane performance.
• Report deviations immediately and stop or hold product when limits are exceeded.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (or Applied Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry).
• 3–5 years in quality or laboratory work in food, beverage or bottled water.
• Hands-on experience in chemical, physical and microbiological water analysis.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000, ISO 17025 and SFDA / Saudi drinking-water standards.
• Experience with PET bottle and preform quality checks is an advantage.
• Accurate, organised, good report writing; good Arabic and English; computer skills (Excel, LIMS/ERP).
How Performance Is Measured
• Zero product released outside specification
• Lab results on time and within limits
• Audit and inspection findings closed on time
• Customer complaints and non-conformities per period
• Calibration and sampling plan compliance
