For businesses in Kampala, selecting a suitable scale can make routine weighing more convenient.
What Capacity Does Your Shop Need?
A business handling relatively light goods may find a 100kg or 200kg model suitable. Shops handling heavier packages or stock may require a 300kg or 500kg scale.
A 1000kg model may suit heavier applications, provided its specifications match the load and platform dimensions.
Features to Consider for Commercial Use
Look for a clearly visible display, appropriate readability, a stable platform and convenient power options.
A tare function can help when weighing goods in containers, provided the scale supports that function.
Legal Requirements for Commercial Weighing
If the scale is used to determine prices or quantities in trade, check the applicable Ugandan legal metrology requirements, including any verification or inspection obligations.
Do not assume that every general-purpose weighing scale is approved for commercial transactions.
Maintaining Your Shop's Scale
Keep the platform clean, position the scale on a stable surface, avoid overload and arrange inspection or calibration when appropriate.
If readings become unstable, check the setup and consult a qualified technician.
Find a Suitable Commercial Platform Scale
Compare the specifications, current prices, warranty and support available for each model before buying.
