Makkah Businesses: Patch The Critical PHP2Shell Flaw Before Attackers Strike

If your business in Makkah runs a website, there's a security story you need to hear today.

Yesterday's news in the tech world: on 21 October 2026, the PHP project released out-of-band emergency fixes for two critical vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, now called PHP2Shell. They are rated 9.2 out of 10 in severity, and the reason is chilling - an attacker who finds an unpatched server can take it over completely, no username or password required. This is not theoretical: attacks are already happening. Around 70% of the world's websites run on PHP - WordPress, Drupal, Laravel and CodeIgniter sites all included. Many people assume updating WordPress is enough. It is not. The vulnerable component is PHP itself, on your server, and only a patch or an upgrade of that PHP installation removes the danger.

I'm a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of PHP and Laravel experience, including big legacy migrations taking systems from PHP 5.x all the way to PHP 8.3. For Makkah clients, my emergency service covers:

- Free vulnerability check: I'll confirm your PHP version and tell you plainly whether you're exposed.
- Emergency patching to the fixed versions: 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12.
- Complete upgrades from old PHP (5.4, 7.x, 8.0, 8.1) to 8.3 / 8.4, with every compatibility error and bug fixed.
- Security hardening for WordPress, Drupal, Laravel and CodeIgniter.
- Malware removal and full recovery for sites that were already hacked.
- Server restart and post-fix verification - the patch must actually be running.
- Speed and stability improvements after the upgrade.

Two facts worth knowing: hosting companies are patching slowly, and servers on PHP 8.1 or older will never receive an official fix - they can only be saved by an expert upgrade. Please don't wait until your website is hacked, defaced or taken offline.
