State Electricity Regulator: Nidar Utilities Maintenance Retender Directive

Operation and maintenance service providers, electricity distribution consultants and regulatory professionals can monitor a procurement directive issued by Maharashtra's State electricity regulator.
MERC has instructed Nidar Utilities Panvel LLP to competitively retender its maintenance contract by 31 March 2027.
The State electricity regulator requires historical contract documentation from April 2020, including amendments, extensions and changes in consideration.
The State electricity regulator has also directed reconciliation of specified power-purchase and settlement expenses, supported by statutory-auditor certification.
Separate audited accounts are required from FY 2026-27 for the distribution business, special economic zone, de-notified area and facilities management operations.
The approved tariff arrangements take effect on 1 November 2026.
Companies monitoring DISCOMs Latest News should note that this is a regulatory instruction to conduct a competitive tender, not an issued tender invitation or announced contract award.
