ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an Electrical Bidding & Technical Engineer to join our Bidding & Technical Department. You will be responsible for the electrical scope of our tenders, including load studies, quantity take-offs, BOQs, vendor evaluation and technical submittals for pool and spa equipment, lighting, control panels and fitness facility power requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bidding & Tendering
- Review tender documents, electrical drawings and specifications to define the electrical scope of work.
- Prepare electrical quantity take-offs and BOQs (cables, panels, DBs, containment, lighting, earthing, control systems, etc.).
- Calculate electrical loads for pool filtration and heating systems, spa equipment, underwater lighting and fitness equipment.
- Request, evaluate and compare quotations from local and international vendors and subcontractors.
- Check the market for suitable suppliers, communicate with them to obtain offers, and arrange and maintain updated price lists.
- Deal with panel builders to obtain offers, review their proposals and follow up on panel fabrication.
- Prepare tender queries, clarifications, assumptions, exclusions and technical compliance statements.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance and other disciplines to complete bid packages on time.
Technical Submittals & Design
- Prepare electrical design calculations (load schedules, cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, earthing and bonding).
- Prepare single-line diagrams, panel schedules, control panel drawings and shop drawings.
- Prepare load schedules and panel fabrication drawings, and coordinate them with panel builders for approval.
- Prepare material submittals, data sheets and method statements for consultant and client approval.
- Prepare method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical works.
- Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC 401), IEC standards, SEC requirements and safety rules for wet and pool areas (e.g. IEC 60364-7-702).
- Review vendor technical documents for imported equipment and confirm suitability for local voltage and frequency.
- Respond to consultant comments and propose value engineering alternatives.
Coordination & Handover
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Architectural and Structural engineers on interfaces, plant room layouts and equipment locations.
- Attend tender, technical and coordination meetings with clients, consultants and suppliers.
- Carry out site visits to verify existing conditions and support tender and submittal requirements.
- Hand over approved BOQs and submittals to procurement, project execution and operation & maintenance teams.
- Support testing, commissioning and handover documentation when required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-6 years of experience in electrical estimation, bidding, technical office or design, preferably with an MEP contractor.
- Experience with pool, spa, water feature or hospitality projects is a strong advantage.
- Membership of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), or eligibility to obtain it.
- Good knowledge of electrical materials, equipment and pricing in the Saudi market.
SKILLS
- Strong electrical calculation and design skills.
- Accurate quantity take-off and BOQ preparation.
- Ability to evaluate vendor offers technically and commercially.
- Good written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage several tenders at once.
