ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Bidding & Technical Department. You will review structural tender documents, prepare structural quantities and BOQs, carry out design checks, and produce technical submittals for swimming pools, spas, water features and related civil works.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bidding & Tendering
- Review tender drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports to define structural scope and risks.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs for structural and civil works (excavation, concrete, reinforcement, formwork, waterproofing, backfilling, etc.).
- Estimate structural costs and obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare tender queries, clarifications, assumptions and exclusions related to structural works.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance and other engineering disciplines to complete bid packages on time.
Design & Technical Submittals
- Perform preliminary and detailed structural design and checks for pool shells, balance tanks, plant rooms and associated structures.
- Prepare structural calculations for pool shells, balance tanks, plant rooms and associated structures at tender and submittal stages.
- Prepare structural calculation reports, shop drawings, method statements and material submittals for consultant approval.
- Prepare method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for structural and civil works.
- Ensure designs comply with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ACI and other applicable standards.
- Respond to consultant comments and revise submittals until approval is obtained.
- Propose value engineering options that maintain safety and quality while optimizing cost.
Coordination & Handover
- Coordinate with Architectural and MEP engineers on openings, embedded items, sleeves and interfaces.
- Attend tender, technical and coordination meetings with clients, consultants and suppliers.
- Carry out site visits to verify existing conditions and support tender and submittal requirements.
- Hand over approved quantities, drawings and submittals to procurement and project teams.
- Provide technical support to the site team during execution when required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 3-6 years of experience in structural design, technical office or bidding, preferably with a contractor.
- Experience with water-retaining structures (pools, tanks, reservoirs) is a strong advantage.
- Membership of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), or eligibility to obtain it.
- Sound knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ACI standards.
SKILLS
- Strong structural analysis and design skills.
- Accurate quantity take-off and cost estimation.
- Ability to prepare clear calculation reports and shop drawings.
- Good written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to meet tight deadlines.
