ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an Architectural Engineer to join our Bidding & Technical Department. You will review tender drawings and specifications, prepare architectural quantity take-offs and BOQs, and produce the technical submittals that support our pool, spa, wellness and fitness facility projects from tender stage through to project handover to execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bidding & Tendering
- Study tender documents, architectural drawings and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for architectural and finishing works (tiling, waterproofing, cladding, ceilings, joinery, sanitary ware, etc.).
- Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare technical and commercial comparisons.
- Check the market for suitable suppliers and subcontractors, communicate with them, and obtain their offers.
- Identify scope gaps, ambiguities and risks, and prepare tender queries (RFIs), clarifications, assumptions and exclusions.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance and other engineering disciplines to deliver complete, on-time bid packages.
Technical Submittals & Design Support
- Prepare material submittals, technical data sheets, samples and method statements for consultant and client approval.
- Obtain material samples from suppliers and submit them for consultant and client approval.
- Prepare or review architectural layouts, sections and details for pools, spas, wet areas and fitness facilities.
- Ensure proposed materials and designs comply with project specifications, the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant international standards.
- Respond to consultant comments and revise submittals until approval is obtained.
- Support value engineering by proposing alternative materials and solutions that meet requirements at lower cost.
Coordination & Handover
- Coordinate with Structural and MEP engineers to resolve interface and clash issues.
- Attend tender, technical and coordination meetings with clients, consultants and suppliers.
- Carry out site visits to verify existing conditions and support tender and submittal requirements.
- Hand over approved BOQs and submittals to procurement and project execution teams with clear technical information.
- Maintain an organized library of tender documents, supplier data and standard details.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or Architecture.
- 3-6 years of experience in bidding, estimation, technical office or design, preferably with a contractor.
- Experience in pools, spas, hospitality, sports or wellness projects is a strong advantage.
- Membership of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), or eligibility to obtain it.
- Good knowledge of finishing materials, construction methods and their costs in the Saudi market.
SKILLS
- Strong quantity take-off and BOQ preparation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications accurately.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight tender deadlines.
- Good written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
SOFTWARE
AutoCAD, Revit (advantage), MS Excel (advanced), MS Word, Adobe Acrobat / Bluebeam; SketchUp or 3D visualization tools are a plus
