The MVP concept — minimum viable product — came out of software, where it’s cheap to ship something rough and iterate based on user feedback. Beverage founders borrow the term constantly, but most apply it wrong, because a drink isn’t a landing page you can tweak overnight. Once you’ve committed to a formulation, packaging, and a production run, changing course is expensive and slow in a way software simply isn’t.
