Duties& Responsibilities:
1. WELDING INSPECTOR
â?â?? Stage wise inspection according to ITP requirement of all the Fabrication of piping.
â?â?? Daily joint Fit-Up inspection for proper Root Gap, Bevel angle, checking with the Isometric
Drawings for proper orientation and giving clearance for welding.
â?â?? Stage wise Welding inspection i.e. before, during and after welding.
â?â?? Incoming material inspection (consumables) and co-relates with MTCâ??s.
â?â?? Conducting Fit up inspection, weld visual inspection, heat input calculation, inter pass
temperature measurement.
â?â?? Monitoring and controlling welding is done as per the welding procedure specification(WPS) â?
Ensure Approved WPS as well as Qualified welders are utilized for the job.
â?â?? Verify proper handling of welding consumables at the work location and daily inspection of
consumable storage if it is in proper condition.
â?â?? Monitoring and controlling Daily Electrodes Conditioning, issuance and re-baking activities â?
Witnessing, MT, PT, PMI and Hardness testing.
â?â?? Conducting base line thickness test for pipe and fittings.
â?â?? Monitoring the selection of welded joints for NDT on weekly basis as per Piping class and
welder wise.
â?â?? Review the test pack to ensure that all required documents are properly and completely
attached and the required data is correctly encoded.
â?â?? Hydro test package NDE document review.
â?â?? Conducting all inspection & NDE activities as per the approved inspection test plan.
â?â?? Coordination with client with all kinds of NDT reports and radiographic film interpretation.
â?â?? Ensuring all the NDT technicians are experienced and approved as per the client requirements.
â?â?? Ensuring all NDT procedures are submitted and approved by client.
â?â?? Check and verify all Calibration/test certificates of equipmentâ??s and measuring devices.
â?â?? Ensure All NDT activities are being performed as per approved procedure.
â?â?? Ensuring PWHT is carried out as per the requirement and as per the approved PWHT
procedure.
â?â?? Coordination with the construction team for proper identification of the joints to be tested,
ensuring all required permits for conducting NDT are available, and all safety precautions like
scaffolding, lighting etc. are available for effective NDT examination.
â?â?? Ensuring all safety and permit requirements are completed while carrying out NDT and PWHT
activities.
â?â?? Ensuring all NDT inspections are carried out and completed as per the requests on daily basis
and no NDT backlog is present.
â?â?? Maintaining and updating the NDT log and assist the QC supervisor for the reporting of the NDT
status, Weld repair and Welder repair rates on weekly basis.
