ASD is looking for a BIM Drafter, which he will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and documenting BIM models for Architectural, Structural, and MEP disciplines using Autodesk Revit.
The role supports engineers, architects, and designers in transforming design concepts, calculations, sketches, and technical requirements into accurate and coordinated BIM models and design drawings throughout the different stages of the project.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain BIM models using Autodesk Revit based on Architectural, Structural, and MEP design requirements.
• Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules directly from BIM models.
• Convert engineering and architectural concepts, sketches, calculations, and design markups into accurate BIM models and drawings.
• Develop and update models and drawings based on instructions and comments received from engineers, architects, and project design teams.
• Coordinate Architectural, Structural, and MEP models to ensure consistency between different disciplines.
• Identify clashes, spatial conflicts, and coordination issues and report them to the responsible Engineer, Architect, or BIM Coordinator.
• Incorporate agreed multidisciplinary coordination changes into the BIM models and related drawings.
• Ensure consistency between BIM models, drawings, schedules, and other design documentation.
• Prepare and organize drawing sheets, views, annotations, dimensions, tags, legends, and schedules in accordance with project and office standards.
• Maintain correct project levels, grids, coordinates, views, worksets, links, and overall model organization.
• Apply company and project BIM standards, templates, naming conventions, modeling procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Support the preparation and development of BIM models and drawings through different design stages, including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation.
• Incorporate comments resulting from internal design reviews, multidisciplinary coordination reviews, client reviews, and authority requirements under the direction of the responsible design team.
• Maintain drawing revisions and ensure that models and drawings reflect the latest design information.
• Assist in developing Revit families and modifying existing families as required by the project.
• Generate schedules, quantities, and other model-based information required by the design team.
• Perform basic model quality checks to verify model accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established BIM standards.
• Maintain organized BIM and CAD files and project documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, designers, and other BIM team members to obtain the technical information required for model development.
• Support the BIM Coordinator in model federation, coordination, and BIM-related project activities as required.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, BIM, or a related technical field.
• Relevant experience in BIM drafting and modeling within an engineering consultancy or design office.
• Good proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks is preferred.
• Good understanding of Architectural, Structural, and MEP drawings and their coordination requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering and architectural sketches, design markups, specifications, and technical instructions.
• Understanding of BIM modeling principles, drawing production, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Good attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings and models.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary design teams.
