When to Start Screening - Begin cervical cancer screening at age 25. Women who have ever been sexually active should start screening at age 25.
What Type of Test and How Often - Once you start screening, the guideline in Singapore recommends different tests depending on age:
Ages 25 – 29: Pap smear (Pap test) every 3 years.
Ages 30 – 69: HPV test every 5 years. The HPV test is more sensitive and is now the recommended primary screening method for this age group.
