In Singapore, the official recommendation for starting cervical cancer screening is based primarily on age and sexual activity — because cervical cancer typically develops after exposure to human papillomavirus (HPV), which is usually transmitted sexually. When to Start Screening - Begin cervical cancer screening at age 25. Women who have ever been sexually active should start screening at age 25.
