The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician/Inspector is responsible for installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems in offshore oil & gas facilities. The role ensures compliance with hazardous area regulations, safety standards, and project specifications while supporting reliable and safe offshore operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of E&I systems in offshore facilities
Work in hazardous areas in compliance with COMPEX and offshore safety regulations
Inspect electrical and instrumentation equipment, cables, junction boxes, and panels
Conduct loop checks, calibration, commissioning, and functional testing
Identify faults, perform troubleshooting, and support breakdown rectification
Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and international standards
Maintain inspection records, test reports, and maintenance documentation
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
Follow offshore HSE rules, PTW systems, and emergency procedures
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum 10 years of offshore experience in E&I roles
Valid COMPEX Certification (mandatory)
Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline
Strong experience in offshore oil & gas platforms or facilities
Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings
Familiarity with offshore safety systems and permit-to-work procedures
