Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role includes preventive and corrective maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and support to production teams to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, and valves.
Inspect machinery regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
Install, dismantle, align, and assemble mechanical components and machines.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety rules and company standards.
Record maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and spare parts usage.
Coordinate with electrical and production teams during maintenance and shutdowns.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance (industrial/manufacturing preferred).
Good knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, seals, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.
