A cashier is responsible for handling customer payments and providing excellent service at the checkout counter. Duties include receiving cash, card, or digital payments, issuing receipts, and ensuring accurate billing. The cashier also maintains the cash register, keeps track of daily transactions, and ensures the checkout area is clean and organized. Basic math skills, attention to detail, and good customer service skills are important for this role.
