Sales manager job duty and responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets
• Set and monitor individual and team sales targets
• Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to improve performance
• Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
• Oversee daily sales operations and ensure smooth execution
• Monitor stock availability and coordinate with supply chain
• Implement trade promotions, schemes, and in-market activities
• Track sales performance and prepare regular reports
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights
• Manage sales budgets & forecasting
• Ensure timely collections and manage credit limits
• Ensure proper merchandising and product visibility in the market
• Maintain compliance with company policies and pricing guidelines
Requirements:
• Minimum 10+ years of FMCG sales experience, including supervisory/management roles
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office and sales tools
• Proven ability to train, lead, and motivate a sales team
Qualifications
• Minimum: Pre-University / bachelor’s degree
• Master’s degree is a plus
