Job Summary:
The Electrical Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement of all electrical systems and materials, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, project timelines, and budget constraints. The role requires strong coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Planning
Develop procurement plans aligned with project schedules and milestones
Identify long-lead electrical items (transformers, switchgear, generators, lighting systems, ELV equipment)
Coordinate with planning and logistics teams for timely delivery
Technical Evaluation:
Review electrical BOQs, drawings, and specifications
Prepare RFQs and analyze supplier quotations
Conduct Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and Commercial Bid Evaluations (CBE)
Ensure compliance with standards (IEC, NEC, SBC, SEC, etc.)
Supplier & Vendor Management
Source and prequalify electrical suppliers and subcontractors
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms
Maintain an approved vendor list for electrical and ELV systems
Cost Control:
Monitor procurement budgets and control costs
Conduct market analysis and benchmarking
Propose value engineering solutions where applicable
Procurement Process Management:
Issue purchase orders and manage procurement documentation
Track submittals, approvals, and delivery status
Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and compliance
Coordination:

Technical office
Site engineers
Logistics team
Resolve technical and procurement-related issues
Risk & Issue Management:
Manage delays, material shortages, and supplier issues
Expedite urgent materials
Handle claims, returns, and defective materials
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
7–12+ years in electrical procurement (preferably hospitality or mega projects)
Strong experience in:
Power systems
Lighting systems
ELV (CCTV, BMS, Fire Alarm, Data)
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical systems and materials
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical submittals
Familiar with standards: IEC, NEC, SBC, SEC
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Competencies:
Strong negotiation and commercial skills
Excellent coordination and communication
Analytical thinking for cost optimization
Ability to work under pressure
Preferred (Plus):
Experience in hotel / luxury projects
GCC / Saudi Arabia experience
Familiarity with PIF / Red Sea / Diriyah projects
