A Weaving Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining weaving machines (looms) to produce fabric from yarn. The role ensures smooth machine operation, high-quality fabric production, and minimum downtime in a textile manufacturing unit.

Key Responsibilities
Operate different types of looms (air-jet, water-jet, rapier, or shuttle looms)
Set up looms by loading warp beams and threading yarn through heddles and reeds
Monitor machine performance and fabric production continuously
Repair yarn breakages (warp and weft) quickly to avoid defects
Check fabric for defects such as holes, uneven weaving, or pattern issues
Adjust machine settings like speed, tension, and alignment
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines
Ensure proper handling of yarns and finished fabric rolls
Maintain production records and report issues to supervisors
Follow safety procedures and maintain workplace cleanliness
Skills Required
Knowledge of weaving processes and loom operations
Ability to handle yarn breakage and machine stoppages efficiently
Attention to detail for fabric quality inspection
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Good hand-eye coordination and quick response time
Ability to work in shifts and under production targets
Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Textile Technology or related field (preferred)
Experience in weaving department is an advantage
Freshers may be trained on the job in some mills
Work Environment
Textile mills or fabric manufacturing units
Noisy environment with continuous machine operation
Shift-based work (day/night shifts)
Standing for long hours may be required
