Instrument Technician (Fire Protection ,Fire suppression & Firefighting Systems)

1. Minimum Qualification

Intermediate (Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent)
Good English communication skills.
2. Job Overview

The Instrument Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments used in fire alarm, fire suppression, and fire pump systems, including skid-mounted and manifold-based fire protection systems.

3. Key Responsibilities

3.1 Installation & Commissioning

Install and commission field instruments such as:
Pressure gauges
Temperature sensors
Flow meters
Level indicators
Flow switches
Pressure switches (discharge & manifold)
Ensure correct integration with fire alarm panels and control systems
Support system integration with PLC and control logic systems
3.2 Calibration & Testing

Perform calibration of instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability
Test instruments after installation, maintenance, or repair
Verify system performance against operational specifications
3.3 Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation systems
Diagnose faults and identify root causes of instrument failures
Repair or replace defective components to restore system functionality
3.4 Documentation & Record Keeping

Maintain accurate records of calibration, maintenance, and repair activities
Ensure documentation compliance for audits and inspections
Update technical logs as per company standards
3.5 System Upgrades & Modifications

Assist in upgrading instrumentation systems with improved technologies
Modify systems to meet operational or safety requirements
3.6 Technical Support & Training

Provide technical support to engineers and operators
Train personnel on proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments
Ensure safe and efficient system operation
4. Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of fire protection instrumentation systems
Ability to read technical drawings and control schematics
Skilled in calibration tools and multimeter usage
Knowledge of PLC/DCS interface systems
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
