1. Minimum Qualification
Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
Strong mechanical background in fire protection systems.
2. Experience
Relevant experience in installation, maintenance, and testing of fire pump systems in industrial or construction environments.
3. Key Responsibilities
3.1 Installation & Setup
Install fire pumps, diesel engines, electric motors, and associated piping systems as per approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
Ensure proper alignment, coupling, and integration of pump and motor assemblies
Install and connect pump control panels and related instrumentation systems.
3.2 Regular Maintenance
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of fire pump systems including electric and diesel-driven pumps
Inspect and service pump components such as valves, couplings, bearings, seals, and electrical connections for wear or damage
Carry out lubrication and greasing of couplings and moving parts
Perform replacement of gland packing and mechanical seals as required
Maintain diesel engine systems including:
Engine oil filter replacement
Fuel and oil filter replacement
Engine oil flushing and oil change procedures
Heat exchanger inspection and maintenance
Conduct pump performance testing and vibration analysis.
3.3 Pump Controller Installation & Maintenance
Install and commission fire pump controllers
Perform controller programming and configuration as per system requirements
Troubleshoot and replace faulty controller components and spare parts .
3.4 Testing & Inspection
Conduct routine testing of fire pump systems including:
Flow testing
Pressure testing
Alarm and signal verification
Ensure system readiness for emergency operation in compliance with safety standards .
3.5 Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair activities
Prepare service reports and maintenance logs as per company and regulatory requirements
Ensure proper documentation is available for audits and compliance verification .
4. Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of fire pump systems (electric and diesel driven)
Ability to read mechanical drawings and pump specifications
Skilled in mechanical tools and maintenance procedures
Knowledge of pump performance testing and vibration monitoring
Basic understanding of electrical pump controllers
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
