The Interior Designer is responsible for developing innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling interior design solutions that reflect Afniah's commitment to creativity, sustainability, precision, and local identity.
The role supports the successful delivery of interior design projects from concept through construction by preparing high-quality designs, technical documentation, material specifications, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams in alignment with Afniah's strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / MAJOR TASKS:
Interior Design & Space Planning
Develop interior design concepts, mood boards, and design presentations that meet client requirements and project objectives.
Prepare space planning layouts, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and interior elevations.
Design functional, aesthetically pleasing, and user-centred interior environments.
Select appropriate colours, finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, and accessories.
Ensure interior designs align with project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
Design Development & Documentation
Prepare schematic, detailed, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other approved software.
Develop detailed joinery drawings, millwork details, and interior construction documentation.
Prepare material specifications, schedules, and finish boards.
Produce 3D visualisations and presentation renderings.
Maintain accurate drawing revisions and project documentation.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, quantity surveyors, and project managers.
Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
Review design changes and incorporate technical comments into project documentation.
Support project managers in achieving design milestones and project delivery schedules.
Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding materials and product specifications.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all interior designs comply with Saudi Building Code (SBC), accessibility requirements, fire safety regulations, and project specifications.
Conduct quality reviews of drawings and technical documentation before submission.
Ensure compliance with Afniah Quality Management System and design standards.
Promote continuous improvement in design quality and documentation practices.
Construction Support
Review contractor shop drawings and material submissions.
Conduct site inspections to verify construction complies with approved design documentation.
Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and site technical queries.
Participate in project handover, snagging, and final inspections.
Support post-occupancy evaluations where required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Professional certification or membership with recognized interior design organizations is desirable.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum four (7-10) years of professional experience in interior design within an architectural or engineering consultancy.
Experience in commercial, hospitality, residential, healthcare, corporate, retail, and mixed-use developments is preferred.
